Kris gets me posting

Thanks for the kick in the pants, Kris!

Here is a picture of giggly Jonah taken in Stanley Park. The week before last Jonah and I were a solo act, as Dan was out of town on business. It was quite the challenge to be on the ball pretty much all of the time. (Small sidetrack: before having Jonah, I used to bounce out of bed in the mornings; I now feel comatose until I have a coffee. Did this happen to any of you?) The cool part, though, was getting to know Jonah. I mean, I see him him everyday and all, but there was a difference that came from being one-on-one. We came up with silly songs and a rockin' "Jonah can feed himself" cheer. Even so, by the week's end, we were thrilled to see Dan's face. And I am loving having the odd sleep-in morning again...

I am officially in awe of single parents. My mom raised both my sister and me on her own from the time I was a year old. I thought I understood what that meant, but I realize now that the she rarely had a chance to just ... stop. How did she do it? It is cliche to say that you understand your parents better when you become one, but man, is it ever true.

It's so true (about understanding your parents better), and ITA also about single parenting.

My dh was out of town on Saturday night, and got stuck on a very loooonnnnngggg trip home on Sunday, after the snowstorm on the US East Coast. It was a long day for me, too, just keeping the kids occupied and warm.

His hair is so long! He's not a baby anymore, he's a real kid!
