It's a mad, mad, mad, mad, mad toddler world

Heh. Anne-Marie, you've shamed me into posting for the first time in I don't know how long. Thanks for the kick in the butt! I've been anything but a bored housewife, and not a whole lot is new with Sam, other than one thing...

Is anyone else's toddler practising his or her tantrum skills? Sam hasn't had any real tantrums, other than one post-vaccination blowout, but every so often I catch him in the middle of doing his homework assignment for The Theory and Practice of Whining 101. I finally managed to catch the tail end of one of these sessions on video.

Note that there was absolutely no catalyst for this little incident, and there's no real emotion behind it. He clearly hasn't committed to the role.

And notice how he stops as soon as he notices me taping him? What gives? A few seconds later, I rolled the camera again, and he's all nonchalant, like, What? Me? I'm just sitting here eating toast and minding my own business. Nothing to see here.

Mine is going far beyond practicing tantrums. The other day he had a full on shitfit, and he's had one or two day since then. He won't even be two until June! That video is hysterical, especially the second one where he's all "ho de ho, nothing going on here".

Ha! The second video in particular is hilarious.

A doesn't have full-blown tantrums, but she has little hissy fits. I try to encourage her to tell me that she's mad instead of yelling or hitting, and sometimes it works.

The second video is so sweet. What nonchalant little man...

*Must stop checking this site... desire to have children is becoming over powering*

Perhaps he just accidently bit his tongue, or the inside of his cheek?
Yeah, that's it...nothing to see here people, move along, just a really cute kid who would never pitch a fit for an undetermined reason just to drive his mom nuts...

Brace yourself, Doppelganger. I fear the inexplicable "episodes" are about to commence.

But sweet christ on a cracker - your Sam is a cutie - he'll totally charm onlookers the first time he has a fit in public...
I'm sharing these videos with everyone at work and he's got them wrapped around his little baby finger.
