That's interesting. My dh's family is sort of the opposite of yours, although not in a gossipy way--they are just much closer than my family. In mine, my brothers and I will all pretty much know things about each other, but won't always tell my mom, or other older relatives.

ha. this reminds me so much of me & my husband..before we got together i used to exercise very little discression, i would tell anyone anything. but now that i'm married to a somewhat private & very shy man, i am much more thoughtful about what i share with others. mainly because i know he would be uncomfortable with my telling people certain stuff. i think he's that way b/c his own mother is a TALKER & he had many embarrassing moments as a child because of her.
