White Garbage Bags
My daughter once referred to some rowdy rough boys as "White Garbage Bags". The poor child meant to say "white trash". Now, this isn't exactly a nice sentiment coming from a young girl, but then again, if you'd seen these boys...

Sooo cute! "White Garbage Bags" might just catch on in this house - I was buying hot dogs to feed Rian and thinking with how White Garbage Bags that was....
And don't get Anne-Marie or Doppleganger starting on the WGB foods they grew up on - Jem would disown them!
Love it!!

Ha! You want to talk about WGB cuisine? Howzabout fried baloney sandwiches? (I know that ... is all over these, heh.)
We also ate sugar sandwiches, which are exactly what they sound like: granulated sugar on buttered white bread. Yum! (I think it's a Dutch thing, the Netherlands being one of my many motherlands, mongrel that I am.)
Oh, and I also remember thinking that TV dinners were a huge treat. Not that I liked the salisbury steak or rehydrated potatoes, but I'd have choked down anything to get to the weird apple-rhubarb dessert.

OMG. i LOVED TV dinners, too. Love love love. and we used to eat this thing we called "cinnamon toast", which sounds suspiciously like a sugar sandwich, but with a hint of cinnamon then toasted under the broiler. i think i would flip if i saw my son eating pure sugar as a snack. but back in the day my ma thought that was a fine treat.

I ate Spam growing up. And lots of Hamburger Helper.
Also, I LOVE sugar sandwiches to this day, although I never called them that. Sometimes I toast the bread, sometimes not. Delicious.

Yo - If y'all want to talk WGB food - or "shove" as we called it... we'd have to sit down and chat.
Man, I could go for one of those margarine/white sugar/white bread sandwiches right about now.

OR...a raw weiner, dipped in yellow mustard eaten in front of an open fridge door. Or a dill pickle wrapped in baloney! One last delicacy - my brother and I used to eat rows of no-name chocolate chip cookies...dipped in water. And by dipped I mean we would run a few cookies at a time under running tap water and eat them before they dissolved. Hey, the milk was all the way upstairs and we had a wet bar in the rumpus room!
